Aegis – 01 – The first step

On April 28th 2007, I’ve taken the first step towards Aegis. It’s going to take me years so don’t expect me to finish it before Christmas this year! ヽ(`Д´)ノ

I asked all the people I know to help me with the Amaltheia NM fight for it’s hide. The hide is needed to make Amaltheia Leather for the first relic shield upgrade. A lot of my friends have mage jobs so the fight turned out to be easy.

Setup was:

Alliance PT #1: PLD PLD PLD WHM WHM RDM
Alliance PT #2: BLMx4
Alliance PT #3: SAM WAR BLM SMN MNK
Adds PT: BRD BLMx5

Adds PT clears the area before I pop Amaltheia.

RDM didn’t seem to have any problems landing gravity. He had 1 or 2 enfeebling merits.

I think we could’ve done it with 2 PLDs. The Amaltheia was brought down the tunnel to an open area in the south.

All the sheep it calls to it move at walking speed so they are nothing to worry about.

SAM died once, a BLM died twice, second death was because he was in banishga range while weakened.

I forgot to take screenshots, so the following will have to suffice. ( T-T)

Found a 100 leathercrafter to help me synth the hide. We sort of knew each other from a previous NA social linkshell so he didn’t charge me for the synth. :D

All the stuff and currency needed for my first upgrade are ready. Just need to get another relic shield from Dynamis-Jeuno to begin the first upgrade.

mmm beer

It was Monday, work as usual. Tuesday was a public holiday. No work, but I had plans to meet up with my colleagues to watch Spiderman 3. It was good except the ending part where everything seems a little too rushed.

"Out of nowhere, for no reason, someone says something and changes someone else’s mind and suddenly this happened and that happened." kind of rushed.

Back to the topic.

My colleagues and I went down to a small restaurant in Bugis. It’s a buffet style steamboat.

In the middle of the table, there’s a huge pot that’s divided into 2 sections, 1 has spicy soup and the other, non-spicy. We order what we want on a slip and it’s brought to us. Some ingredients take time to cook, others like strips of beef, we dip it into the hot soup for a short while to cook it and then eat it.

Then one colleague suggested going to a pub for a drink. We had some beer, played some dice games, where I lost a few rounds and the punishment was to drink a cup of beer.

I think I drank too much in a short period of time cos I got drunk pretty soon. But damn, it feels good.

I was quite high but sober enough to walk properly. Good enough to take the train home.

I swear it’s true…

… that I got Aegis and my last PLD legs piece last night.

In a dream.

I was so happy I was like, "hey, let’s go fight some shit, I want to tank stuff!" in that dream. I even woke up feeling wow. And then after a few minutes sitting up on my chair, I realized it was just a dream.

Yea, I’ve been thinking about these 2 items a lot lately. Is it a sign that I will get them soon? Or a sign that I need to cut down on FFXI.

And I was half drunk when I went to sleep last night. Could alcohol be it?

Mog Lockers for my mules

It was tiring…

But I’m finally done getting Aht Uhrgan access for my remaining 2 mules. A real life friend of mine who also plays the game was at work so I abused his account to farm the 6 sub job quest items for my mules.

The tiring part is running around vana’diel without a chocobo. orz

But yes… I’m finally done with this.

I have 4 mules, each in Windurst, San’dOria, Bastok, Jeuno and Al Zahbi. My main character is a LV6 Mithra THF (!?) and my mule character is a 75DRK/75PLD(!??!!?) which I spend most of my time on.

My San’dOria mule holds many low level equip for many of my low level jobs. Windurst mule is my ingredients mule, which is almost full after reorganizing all the food ingredients from other mules. >_>

Bastok mule which is my smithing character, holds many smithing stuff. Jeuno mule holds higher level equipment and mage equipment. Sometimes when I help friends out with level capped missions or in level capped areas, I prefer to go as BLM as I didn’t keep low level equipment for my PLD and DRK.

Having a character in each country also makes it easy to gather materials for synthesis. Sometimes the NPCs that sell those materials, sell them cheaper than what you can get on the Auction House!
