Australia

Boss told me he may send me to Australia to give training on the CRM project I’m developing at work, to our clients over there.

I’m not trained, no experience, and don’t like to give trainings/presentations. :(

However, I don’t mind going to Sydney, Australia.

But… I don’t like to give training….

But…….. I want to go to Australia……

blargh!

I’ll see how it goes.

It’s been a while since I last felt this…

My motivation to finish my secret project is very very high at the moment. I find the concept interesting and fun.

It was a public holiday in Singapore yesterday. Vesak Day. So there’s no work.

I woke up early, logged in to FFXI and checked AH and stuff, saw besieged was coming soon and prepared my character in Al Zahbi and went to work on my project.

I literally spent the whole day coding from morning till late night with very little short breaks in between.

I had fun coding and when you have fun doing things, time flies really fast.

I’ve finished the front-end of my project (I think). Did a little bit of back-end side before I called it a day. I have a few more core features of the project that must be finished before I start looking for people to test it.

I’ll reveal more when I start releasing it for testing! :)

hot weekend

I had so much things I wanted to do, one of them is to start coding a new site (secret for now). But I ended up doing nothing but watching Japanese drama because the weather is too warm to be productive…

It’s weather like this that makes me want to buy a laptop and start doing coding outside in air-conditioned places like the library or McDonald’s. Sadly, most places don’t allow users to use the electrical plugs. And those that do, do not have enough and those who are lucky to get one will continue to use it for many more hours.

Alternatively, I could install an air-conditioner at home but those things use a lot of electricity, my house is too cramp to make space for the installation, new energy efficient models may not be compatible for my apartment’s electrical infrastructure because my apartment is over 15 years old. And lastly, I want to buy a bigger home and move out of this place within the next 6-7 years!

The Jdrama that I’m currently watching is Nodame Cantabile. Quite good. I suck at reviewing so I won’t write anything about it. But I can say I enjoyed it.

On Saturday night, I went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 3 with 2 of my friends. We watched the 12am midnight show because the earlier time slots were fully booked. Well, not fully booked actually. The front 2-3 rows were empty and believe me, those front rows are so near to the screen that you can’t enjoy the movie with a good view comfortably.

Enjoyed it a lot! I must have a different sense of humour than the majority because while the audience laughed at some funny scenes, I only smiled. And when I laughed, the other audience kept quiet. I may collect the DVD set for this movie. Next movie to look forward to is Transformers!

Reached home at around 3.30am very sleepy and thus skipped dynamis(FFXI event) which was starting in half an hour, 4am.

Singapore’s Crazy Weather

It’s that time of the year again.

One day it’s hot, the next day it’s cold. Last night at 12am as I was trying to sleep, it was very warm. The sky was so clear I could see the stars clearly. Then at about 5am, it rained heavily.

And they say it will get hotter as each year passes because of global warming.

I feel like installing an air conditioner in my room but such devices consume lots of electricity!

mmm beer

It was Monday, work as usual. Tuesday was a public holiday. No work, but I had plans to meet up with my colleagues to watch Spiderman 3. It was good except the ending part where everything seems a little too rushed.

"Out of nowhere, for no reason, someone says something and changes someone else’s mind and suddenly this happened and that happened." kind of rushed.

Back to the topic.

My colleagues and I went down to a small restaurant in Bugis. It’s a buffet style steamboat.

In the middle of the table, there’s a huge pot that’s divided into 2 sections, 1 has spicy soup and the other, non-spicy. We order what we want on a slip and it’s brought to us. Some ingredients take time to cook, others like strips of beef, we dip it into the hot soup for a short while to cook it and then eat it.

Then one colleague suggested going to a pub for a drink. We had some beer, played some dice games, where I lost a few rounds and the punishment was to drink a cup of beer.

I think I drank too much in a short period of time cos I got drunk pretty soon. But damn, it feels good.

I was quite high but sober enough to walk properly. Good enough to take the train home.
