I Fucking Hate Dust. [>(]

Out of the blue, I moved my monitor to another corner of my room and dismantled my computer table. Took apart everything and cleaned up dust that had been accumulating for 2 years. There’s so much of them in thick layers you could probably stuff a small pillow and use it as a wrist rest. [:|]

So I washed and wiped and vacuumed the area. Dismantled any device with wires and revised the setup of the electrical plugs. I was able to remove 2 extension power sockets and even made freed up one power socket. The floor looks much less cluttered with wires now. With plastic raffia string, I tied up those extra long wires to make them shorter and less messier.

Then I met up with my friends for a swim at the SAFRA at Yishun. Guests have to pay S$3.10! I don’t really know how to swim so what I did for most of the 90 minutes was just stay in the pool and enjoy the evening sun and the young ladies in their swimsuits [XD]. I felt refreshed when we left.

For me, it was just another weekend well spent. [:)]

They no longer make comedy the way it used to be..

A rant against Singapore’s Jack Neo. The only time I watch TV is during dinner where I have to go to the kitchen away from my computer.

  • His programs are losing originality.

  • All laughter in his comedy shows are recorded and played after every freakin’ sentence.

  • His jokes are getting lame.

  • He and his gang are setting a bad example for young teens to follow.

What ever happened to “Liang Po Po”(Grandma Liang) ? Where did Moses and his “hey-orh, hey-orh” go? They used to be a lot more entertaining years ago if anyone remembers.

Now I may understand a little of why they say TV rots the mind. From my observations, half of Singapore’s teens are mimicking what they see on TV. They base their assumptions on what they see on TV. TV is becoming their bible to life!

I may sound nonsensical but one thing’s for sure, I’m fucking glad none of my friends behave that way. [X)]

4 computers at my disposal.

Well, it was just for 3 hours. My boss’s friend at the office bought a new computer and needed my help to install windows and stuff for him. I managed to finish everything in 2 hours. And here’s me fooling around in IRC. [XD]

I just love the smell of new hardware. [X)]

Made more changes to this blog. As you can see, I’ve merged my tech entries and life entries again but this time, I’m seperating them by color. Orange == Tech and Blue == Life.

No lunch money!

Bah… Left my money in my drawer and I forgot to take some this morning. Guess I’ll have to skip lunch.

Just added a Blogger’s Day link. Urgh… I’m a day late. [X(]

An extract from the webpage.

Why sign up?

There are over 4.12 million webloggers writing their thoughts so that people can share in the good things and in the bad, in the happy things and in the sad. Each weblog is certainly a world of its own. There are people out there who write phenomenal entries every day, while others muse a few days and write a smashing entry once a week… and the uniqueness of each blog is what makes them so interesting. Its the forbidding, often voyeuristic sense of reading someone’s journal that makes it so interesting, and no culture, race, sex, gender or any division can make a blog less interesting than another.

writing. freedom. expression.

So why should you join the list?

Because its a growing phenomenon: you can rest assured weblogs won’t dissapear for decades to come.
Because its to celebrate you: whether you write often or not, you still dwell in “blogland”
Because you express: and show your thoughts, feelings, happenings, likes, dislikes, privately or not
Because you make it happen: webloggers are proof that there are no borders in what and how people write
Because someone said: “Think of a blog as your own private therapist. Without the fancy fees.”

Writing a news site…

I’ve decided to make a news/content site instead of a tech blog site on wyred.nu irregardless of whether I have regular readers or not. A fine example of what I hope to create would be Slashdot.

Sure, there are many CMS (Content Management System) scripts readily available for use on the net but where’s the pleasure in making one’s own and being able to customise it to my liking?

The types of articles I’ve planned for are anime/manga, hardware, software, gaming, web development, networking, security. Might add or drop a few but in general, topics would be related to Japanese culture, gaming, computers and the web.

So in the meantime, I would love to have some volunteers to write articles. [:)]

Oh yes, I would love freedom of speech. The disclaimer would have a line that says our writers will not be held liable for articles posted, blah blah…
