The Cathay

Went to watch Pirates of the Carribean 2 (Dead man’s chest) at The Cathay yesterday.

Booked myself a good seat through their website earlier that day. Tickets cost $8 and booking fee costs only 50cents. The booking fee for Golden Village is $1, tickets also at $8.

The place is still new and a lot of shops aren’t opened for business yet. I was hoping there’d be a fastfood restaurant like Mos Burger, McDonald’s, Burger King so I can smuggle in a burger for dinner.

Movie starts at 7pm. I leave work at 6pm. Travelling there takes 30 minutes which leaves me insufficient time for dinner. [:(]

Sadly, there’s no fastfood restaurants so I had to buy the expensive meals from the movie theatre’s stalls.

Fucking $7.40 for a medium cup of iced lemon tea ($2.90) and a bacon cheese hotdog ($4.50) that’s only about 6 inches long. This is why I always avoid these overpriced stalls. The reason people still buy from these stalls is because the food they sell are the only ones you are allowed to bring in. You can’t bring in food from other stalls but I have a bag big enough to hide 8 burgers and no one bothers to see what you’re eating when the show starts.

And I also regret buying that drink.

Because near the end of the movie, I gave up enduring the urgent tide and left for the restroom. I missed the important last scene in the movie… orz

Oh well. At least I managed to get details of that scene from a friend who’s already watched it.

6th floor of The Cathay.
Light from the setting sun was reflected off one of the buildings and it was beautiful.
That’s SMU on the left.

wallpapers for my phone

Just for a change, I made some wallpapers for my Nokia phone using photoshop and FFXI model viewer. The result looks very nice on my phone!

The first one is my character in DRK AF2. The details appear beautifully on my phone. The second one is not modelled after anyone I know! It’s just my favourite face type for hume female.

it’s decided!

After spending time thinking, eating, sleeping, gaming, working and thinking again, I’ve decided to go sign up for Japanese lessons! Course starts Jan 2007 and registration begins Dec 2006. I’ll be going for the "intensive" course which just means 2 lessons per week, whereas the regular course is 1 per week.

This means less time for FFXI!

I should be able to catch up. I already know a bit of Japanese from watching animes and Japanese dramas and I also have a strong interest in learning it. From past experiences, having interest in the subject makes learning a lot faster, easier.

Less time for FFXI!

I had a social gathering last night with a few friends from secondary school. We had dinner at Pizza Hut. It’s been a long time since I had a social gathering with friends, I somehow felt refreshed today at work. We’ve scheduled another meet up something during September. Alcohol will be involved, but I don’t think I want to get myself drunk.

Less FFXI!

Ok! Back to work!

oh?

A bomb… ??
