Why do I even bother quarelling with immature people? And have to face
their childish antics? Seriously, if this trend continues, Singapore is going
down for sure. I’m not saying this because I’m a Malaysian (Hell, I was
born and spent all my life in Singapore). I’m saying this because in a
desperate attempt to appear as a funny person to others, these little shits can
come up with the lamest crap and laugh at their own jokes.

Again, I blame this on local chinese TV programmes led by Jack Neo and
company. I also blame the army for fucking up the minds of many people and
some friends.

I seriously need to practice the power of self-control and will myself to
ignore these brats.

My favourites:

Spent a lot of time over the weekend re-arranging stuff on my main computer. Moving files around, reducing the stripe size of my stripe-raided raptors to what others say, an optimal value of 16K. I removed my 80GB harddisk to be installed at my office machine. I filled it up with so much anime and MP3s it slowed performance down noticeably.

Besides spending hours at night fiddling with hardware, I had a healthy dose of social activity at a friend’s 21st birthday party. Only a handful of each of her primary, secondary, junior college friends and her relatives were invited. I happen to be in the same primary and secondary school with her, so I had the chance to chat with a lot of old friends. Somehow I feel rather refreshed after that night.

I ordered a few CDs off cdjapan the other day. They are in the process of shipping now. Should arrive in the office by next week. Rather cheap than buying from HMV. That shop charged up to $70 just for an imported album. I ordered Kotoko’s Hane album, The Pillows’ Fool on the Planet, Onegai Teacher – Love a Riddle Image Song Album and a Onegai Teacher OP & ED Theme song Singles. Both Onegai Teacher albums have songs sung by Kotoko! [XD] Everything totalled to S$123. Nice number eh [X(]. Shipping will be done via vPostJapan to reduce shipping costs. And those CDs, especially The Pillows’ albums, are near extinct in Singapore. Waste of money? No. I believe good things must be enjoyed at their best. [:)]

I’ve been working for almost a year now. My advice would be to enjoy your school days while you still can!

For now, I miss my student years very much.
But I also enjoy working life too~ I can shop without worrying too much. I can eat more food than I used to. lol

It depends actually. If you have a bad boss, work in something you have no interest in, of course you will have an unenjoyable working life. But just to share, here’s my case and let me begin from my school life.

Back then, it was all sleep, eat, sleep, go home. Or go out with friends, study in school, sleep some more at the comfortable sofa in the air-conditioned library. Haha. Cos I’m rather nocturnal so I have difficulties trying to sleep at night. It was fun, studying with friends. Of course, you can chat once in a while, but you need to set a target for yourself each time there’s a study group so you won’t end up chatting all the way. I had more time back then. Can play games more often, go out more often too.

Some of my fondest memories of school life are during the periods before exams. Everyone helping one another, studying in school at our own pace.

Now working 5 days a week. Can’t find anything bad about working life. Perhaps not enough time to spend on Final Fantasy XI would be one! I enjoy what I do at work. Web developing with PHP and stuff. Have a good boss, a good office location which is 1 hour direct bus ride from home. Oh yes, my butt aches from the bus rides would be another bad thing. But the pretty office ladies I see on the bus and during lunch are rather comforting.

Every Friday, I make it a point to eat out and go shopping. Hee. End of the month, after I get my pay, I always visit Kinokuniya at Orchard to get the next issue of Newtype USA and some new mangas, then have dinner at Burger King, and read some manga whilst sipping coffee. I seldom have the chance to go out with friends cos most of them enlisted (I didn’t need to enlist cos I’m PR). Only on some Fridays/Saturdays, we could go out for supper. Since I’m from a poor family, my life has improved since I started working. I’ve put on a bit of weight and I could indulge myself more into Japanese culture (namely anime!).

To conclude, both has it’s pros and cons, but you have to go through both of them anyways. Since I miss my student days and there is no way to turn back time, I would advise all of you students to cherish it while you still can. It’s only once in your lifetime wor.

Go ahead and break some rules if you will (but do it without troubling someone else!). For me, during my poly days, I dyed my short hair bright yellow and stayed away from the barber for a year! lol. Even though I look terrible, and despite some warnings from lecturers, I wanted to experience how it feels to have long hair. At least up to shoulder length.

When you start working, you will probably get more busy depending on your field. Even though you don’t have to worry about exams anymore, you have to worry about your performance at work. But hey, you get paid a nice sum at the end of each month. Usually more than enough to go on a sushi-eating rampage~

Another off topic advice: When you get your first pay, you may or may not notice that all things around you feel so much cheaper. This is where you have to practice self-control. Or else you would end up buying lots of stuff like I did. X(
