Exploring Dynamis

Now that I’m level 75, able to equip all my AF2s, have lots of exp buffer (43,999/44,000), I decided I’m ready and that it’s about time I experience a whole new level of excitement. Dynamis.

I went for a NA sponsored free-for-all dynamis once. I miscalculated the time and overslept. But I got to experience 10-20 minutes of Dynamis-Bastok as a level 65 DRK, with 2-3 deaths and we all ran out of time.

Tuufless blogged about Explorer being remade to ExplorerII because the leader is leaving FFXI. I see this as a good chance for me to join in. Then I found out Explorer schedules their runs at 12am and 4am Singapore time. ( ´Д`)

I checked with 2 friends who each belonged to a Dynamis LS whose runs are more friendly to my timezone but they aren’t accepting any new members. ;;

So last night after rushing home from work, I had a quick shower and dinner, levelled my NPC and went to Windurst to AFK there and take a short nap. Woke up at 11.30pm (90 minutes of sleep), made some milk tea [XD] and waited outside the Mog House at Windurst Walls watching all the Explorer members gather.

Then I spotted Lostman, the new leader for ExplorerII. Sent a few tells and waited for him to make me a linkpearl. The majority of the members are Japanese and it appears most of them can speak some English well too.

I noticed there was a gilseller on this run, don’t know who invited him but I’m sure he got booted when the relevant authorities were informed after the run.

So this is my first actual dynamis run: Dynamis-Windurst. I heard it’s difficult and was told to expect at least a wipe. Instead, everything went smoothly with a few minor deaths and we almost ran out of time. Instructions were easy to follow. To sum it all up, everything was so easy I can’t understand why some other LSes have difficulties.

Sadly no DRK AF2 gauntlets dropped. ( T-T) The whole run began around 1am and ended at 5am. I had a good 2 hours sleep before I woke up and get prepared for work. I think I can cope with their times, and I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

お茶!くれませんか?

Been drinking a lot of milk tea lately. Hot Lipton tea with a tablespoon of condensed milk. A nice drink to have while playing FFXI.

Tesutamento returned to the game a few weeks after his decision to quit, but I dont’ see him logging on as frequently as he used to. And one fine day he asked me where I was in my promathia missions and it just so happened I was at the same mission his social JP LS was at.

His LS regularly does promathia missions once a week on either Monday or Tuesday. We’ve progressed through the Mammet battle, Diabolos battle, and just yesterday night, Ouryuu~

The first Mammet battle we lost. PT setup was BST, BST, NIN, BLM, BLM, BLM. 2 BSTs kite a mammet each while the others attack 1. The second try however, was success.

Then came the Diabolos battle. This one went so smooth no one died and hi-potion wasn’t even used. I went as DRK and managed to stun all 3 nightmare moves, almost missed the last because of chat log lag.

Ouryuu had to be the most exciting of the three. PLD, WHM, RDM, BLM, BLM, BLM. PLD goes in and voke, RDM dispels and the 3 BLMs Elemental seal + Freeze. We would cast aeroga when Ouryuu flies and sleep him when he lands. I think only 3-4 mist melts were used. PLD fell shortly after the first round of freeze and I had the most hate somehow, even with Mycophile Cuffs (Enmity -2).

Blink proved to be very useful. It absorbed 3 hits from Ouryuu which would otherwise hit me for 200-300 damage each. We kept Ouryuu slept until the PLD came out of weakness and proceeded with some light nukes. By then our elemental seal was ready to be used again and we went with the second round of freeze.

My freeze got resisted. ( T-T)

But we were so close. I kept on kiting Ouryuu as he flew around chasing me. His hits were a consistent 53 damage, then suddenly he hit me for 200+, health dropped to 43. One more hit and I would also fall but instead, the other BLM finished casting Freeze and I stopped running. I thought it was lag and was expecting to see myself fall but then I didn’t have R0! Ouryuu defeated on our first attempt! [XD]

We estimated that if everything goes smoothly, we’ll be able to access Al’Taieu in 4 weeks. ^^

And so it’s back to work…

Let’s see… Over the week, I levelled my BLM job a lot. Never expected to take it to 52, now I just might take it to 60 and dump all the AF equip to the storage NPC.

Also camped Mysticmaker Profblix for my Moldavite Earring.
1st spawn: Lost claim to a NIN with provoke.
2nd spawn: Skipped to help Traktor at Carmine Dobsonfly NM.
3rd spawn: Traktor helped claim with provoke.
4th spawn: Lost claim to a RDM with Dia.
5th spawn: Claimed with no competitors.
6th spawn: Claimed with bored competitors, got the drop!

Did some skillups for my DRK. Marksmanship is now capped at 200, Elemental capped at 256, Enfeebling went from 140+ to 200+ over 6 hours, spamming dia with WHM sub in a skill up PT at Boyahda’s Steelshells.

I have 3 sets of equipment to work on. Accuracy equip, Strength equip and equip for solo-ing the harder EPs that give 45exp. Here’s a list of what I have, what I want and within my reach.

Accuracy mode:
Ammo: Bomb Core
Head: Optical Hat [+10 ACC]
Neck: Peacock Charm (borrowed)[+10 ACC], else Royal Guard’s collar [+4 ACC]
Ear 1: Minuet Earring [+1 DEX]
Ear 2: Assault Earring [+2 ACC]
Body: Hauberk [+10 ACC, +5 DEX]
Hands: Thick Mufflers [+3 ACC]
Ring 1 and 2: Sniper’s Ring [Total: +10 ACC] (I think I’ll aim for Sniper’s Ring +1 [Total: +14 ACC])
Back: Forager’s Mantle (No accuracy bonus but I’m using this because of +15 attack)
Waist: Life Belt [+10 ACC]
Legs: Thick Breeches [+2 ACC], but I’ve been using Tracker’s Kecks recently for an extra +1 attack
Feet: Adaman Sollerets [+3 ACC], I want the +1 version but sadly, nobody’s selling them. +1 version is called Armada Sollerets and gives +4 ACC. However, I still hate the -10 MND it gives.

Total: +60 Accuracy, +7 Dex.

Strength mode:
Ammo: Bomb Core, trying to get Balm Sachet [+1 STR, +1 INT] but very low drop rate.
Head: Wyvern Helm [+5 STR]
Neck: Spike Necklace [+3 STR]
Ear 1: Minuet Earring [+1 STR]
Ear 2: Triumph Earring [+2 STR] (borrowed)
Body: Hecatomb Harness [+12 STR]
Hands: Custom M Gloves [+3 STR], aiming for Hecatomb Mittens [+7 STR]
Ring 1 and 2: Flame Ring [Total: +10 STR, +4 INT] INT is good for my weapon skills.
Back: Forager’s Mantle [+3 STR]
Waist: Warwolf Belt [+5 STR]
Legs: Royal Knight’s breeches [+2 STR], Black Cuisses would be nice for [+4 STR] but they’re very expensive.
Feet: Hecatomb Leggings [+6 STR]

Total: +52 STR, +4 INT. If I use Balin’s Sword, that would be another +4 STR and +2 INT.
People say it’s best to have at least +60 STR. So yea… working on that.

Solo mode:
Main Weapon: Death Scythe [Additional Effect: HP Drain, random]
Ranged Weapon: Thug’s zamburak [+1 AGI, +2 Ranged ACC]
Ammo: Blind Bolts [Additional Effect: Blind, 100%]
Head: Optical Hat [+10 Evasion]
Neck: Royal Guard’s collar [Defense: 6]
Ear 1 and 2: Dodge Earring [Total: +6 Evasion]
Body: Chaos Cuirass [Defense: 46, +3 VIT], Assault Breastplate [Defense: 65] awesome but no one knows how to get one yet.
Hands: Blood Finger Gauntlets [Defense: 27, +11 Ranged ACC, +11 Dark Magic]
Ring 1 and 2: Phalanx Ring [Total: Defense: 20]
Back: Forager’s Mantle [Defense: 7]
Waist: Warwolf Belt [+5 VIT]
Legs: Chaos flanchard [Defense: 31, +5 Evasion, +10 Parrying Skill]
Feet: Blood Greaves [Defense: 25, +4 AGI]

Why the above? I need ranged accuracy to land my blind bolts on my targets to lower their accuracy. Evasion speaks for itself. +10 Dark magic makes a lot of difference and reduces resists. Surprisingly, shooting harder EPs are hard without Peacock Charm. Harder EPs also hit me easily so I may just go full defense instead of evasion and eat a nice defense food.

I need luck… Seiryu isn’t dropping the abjurations I need. ; ;

I’ve been levelling my fellow NPC at Altepa’s deserts and farming for Kindred’s Seals at the same time. Last night I decided to try farming off Recluse Spiders at Kuftal’s Tunnels and it seems that I can pull it off but only with WHM sub and some defense foods. My NPC heals only when my health drops down to around 50-60%. Can’t wait for the time where it can support me well enough to farm non-stop. I need to rest for MP about every 2-3 spiders.

My first attempt a Kuftal’s spiders: 3 Spider webs (worth 20k each) and 2 Kindred’s Seals. XD

Update:
Finally got my wyrmal abjurations feet and hands. I bought the HQ items to uncurse because since it’s rare/ex, might as well go for the best. Equip mentioned above, I’ve highlighted in blue the ones I don’t have.

Ground Strike Love

Another Kirin fight last Saturday~ ( ´―`)

This time, I used Yellow Curry as my food, boosts my attack to around 510-520. ( °Д°)

300% TP, Souleater, Last Resort, Flee, run up to Kirin’s back and
Sneak Attack + Ground Strike!! ヽ( `Д´)ノ

Wyred uses Ground Strike.
Kirin takes 1482 points of damage.
Skillchain: Light.
Kirin takes 185 points of damage.
Kirin uses Deadly Hold.
Wyred takes 704 points of damage.
Wyred (°∀°)

Sweet. Almost there. Just need to get my Hecatomb mittens, and use Bison Steak next time. Maybe with these, I may hit the 1600 mark. With the accuracy equip I had that time, I could hit Kirin at around 60% accuracy and damage done with each hit ranging from 40-90. Absolutely no 0 damage hits. ^^

Kirin dropped Shining Cloth and Neptunal Abjuration: Body! Congrats to Hellokittie!

Later that night after Kirin…. We all teleported down to Misareaux Coast and try the NM that drops Tatami Shield!! ( °ロ°)

Death-ga! (;´Д`)ハァハァ

Devastating Thundagas and Body Slams. Can’t stun it because it’s thunder resistant. The first run had the most deaths. But we improved over the second and third run. Sadly the shield didn’t drop for all 3 fights because we used the NQ version of the pop items. Guess it’s not worth to try this using the NQ pop item. ( ´ハ`)

Still, it was fun overall. ( ´ー`)

For those who don’t know, this is a feeble attempt at blogging JP style. w

はいはい~

Managing an LS alone, especially Sky HNM one, is not a simple task. ( >_<)
Tesutamento, my JP friend who offered to take up the position left because being a leader made the game not fun anymore for him. ( T-T)

I don’t know when but I’ll take responsibility until then.

Anyways, I got the last kill on Kirin! 300%TP, Souleater, Ground Strike for 992… ( ´Д`)
Don’t know if this is good or bad but comparing to another DRK who did 2000 on Kirin, I suck. Shining Cloth dropped by the way.

On the other hand, I think I do more damage using sneak attack every minute on Kirin instead of standing in the corridor drinking sleeping potions like beer till 300%TP. My SA damage ranges from 90-150. Takes me about 20 minutes to get 300%TP and fire off Spiral Hell and then Flee for my dear life.

My friend terminated his webhost account so until I upgrade my home connection, I probably won’t be posting much pics.

Helped Coolio with KS30: Copycat. 4 fights planned. Setup: WAR RNG BLM RDM DRK BRD.

The NM is an ahriman who charms everyone in the PT. The charm sequence seems to be based on the order the people joined the PT. The ahriman charmed in sequence as expected for the first 2 battles but started to go random for the last 2.

It charms another person after 30 seconds. Keeping in mind the person before me is Traktor, BLM, I begin a mental countdown when I see him charmed. Before my turn comes, I hit a macro that switches my main weapon to the event item I got that day, a Pitchfork +1, change my body equip to Hecatomb for longer delay. I kept my Sniper Rings on for Dark resistance -40 so I can be easily slept.

Initially, I was asked to go Hand-to-Hand but I had high skill in Hand-to-Hand because of my lv 25 Monk job, but even with /thf, I did not even have polearm skill. I only missed countdown once, and I hit my RDM twice for 200+ damage, lol.

It’s a fun KSNM battle.
