Nothing much has been happening for me in FFXI as I’ve been spending more time watching DVD movies instead of seeking merit/level up PTs.

Thus, the lack of posts.

I’ll just summarise what I can remember!

Last haubergeon synth session gave me no HQs and I had my first break where I lost a damascus ingot. I woke up specially at 4am for this session so I went back to sleep easily and the sadness went away when I woke up. lol

Went on a Apollyon NW run with 3 BLMs and a COR. I was PLD. We killed the huge wyvern Cynoprosopi with 2 BLMs. One died and hit enter before the reraise menu showed up and ended up at his home point.

With about 20 minutes left, we managed to kill Kaiser Behemoth without taking a single point of damage. I think I’m able to judge the distance and time it so that it casts meteor at the nuking spot for BLMs, and then run out of meteor’s casting range. By the way, I dislike distance and TP plugins. :)

And with killing Kaiser Behemoth, we opened the last item chest and I finally got my DRK item. Just need 23 more ancient beastcoints now to upgrade my AF helm (Chaos Burgeonet +7 STR) and then I can sell my wyvern helm(+5 STR) and free up one inventory space.

I didn’t feel like buying those beastcoins because it costs 23*15,000=345,000gil. :(

NIN has reached LV56. Just 1 more till I can use hocho(cooking+3). I had a fun PT last night with lesser colibris just outside whitegate. Setup was WHM BLM BLU NIN NIN MNK. Thanks to 2 back to back LV8 besieges, there wasn’t a lot of people farming lesser colibris. Just one or two but farming spiders.

Though I had fun this PT, I still won’t take NIN to 75. It’s quite tedious trying to count shadows and stuff. And you seem to need a lot of expensive equipment for end-game tanking. I planned to stop at 60 but my friend wanted 61 for some WS so yea, I will stop at 61.

Speaking of end-game tanking, the recent Kirin I attended, as PLD/WAR to tank the 4 summons, there was once my HP dropped to 9 when Suzaku used chainspell and managed to fire off flare at me. Perhaps it’s because I knew my support would save me so I didn’t panic. RDM/DRK went into chainspell stun mode, I cured 4 myself and everything went back to normal.

Oh yes, I did it again for the 3rd time. Attempting to /besiegemap when I woke up while still on my bed. ( >_<)

Finally got another relic shield from Dynamis-Jeuno.

Had Tuufless synth an orichalcum sheet for me. I had the ingot in my mogsafe for a while now.

First synth broke. I was like, "lol, nevermind". Then I went to AH and bought another. Second synth broke. Wow… I’m really unlucky today.

Tuufless was 87+2, and with advanced support, he’s 1 level above the item cap. Anyway, he had some stuff lying around, bought some materials from the AH and donated a 3rd one. Thanks! :D

Brought the materials and ancient currency to the goblin in Castle Zvahl and traded. I did it on Sunday, so I don’t know if you had to wait for JP midnight or conquest tally. I went on Monday morning to pick it up.

One step closer towards lolAegis. Hell awaits. But let’s just focus on the next stage yea? ;)

And the day, vana time, moon phase was exactly the same as when I got my first HQ.

4th session: 1/6

First HQ that I sold, 500k went to my main char to clear some debts. 500k went to my "shopping" mule which I save up gil to buy stuff from my wish list. 2m went to my "investments" mule which I use to fund these Haubergeon synths. Last 1m went to my smithing mule to fund smithing skill ups.

I haven’t been skilling up smithing, I left it at 81. Didn’t want to power level it but the profitable synths at this level sell very slow. :/

I need to get it up to the 90s where I can at least break tier 2 on darksteel chains so I can cut down my losses when I NQ haubergeon.

HQ Haub is selling slow, once I sell it, 1m goes to my main char to finish my debts and finally have some gil of my own. 2m goes to investments. 500k for smithing, 500k for shopping, which I will use to start buying some dynamis currency. :)

After tanking some sky NMs, mini-seiryu’s hundred fists, dynamis NMs, I’m 0.8 away to capped parrying which is at 225.

I needed EM monsters to get my last level so I went exploring and by sheer luck, found the perfect place. It’s near zone and a EM mamool there. It’s a BLU mamool, I’ve had it use 1000 needles, bad breath and radiant breath on me but it wasn’t too bad.

Instead of killing the mamool, I would zone it so I didn’t have to wait 15 minutes for it to respawn. If a DC pops in place, pull it and zone it until an EM spawns.

I was PLD/RDM with capped enhancing magic, most of the hits would be 0 or 1 damage, sometimes more. Ate fish chiefkabob. Had total of +32 parrying skill from gear: Parrying torque(+7), Parrying earring(+3), Verdun(+7), Boxer’s Mantle(+10) and Amir kolluks (+5). Rest of the gear would be shield+ gear.

Having high parrying skill is good. On DRK, it has saved me a few times when I get hate from VT-IT monsters. On PLD, I remember parrying the attack that would have killed me when I tanked Vouivre with my LS friends.

Now that I have all my skills capped for DRK and PLD, I think I’m going back to soloing lesser colibris for merits to finish my shield merits.

Out of boredom, I levelled WHM on my smithing mule. It’s a female character by the way and I’m a guy in real life. And three things happened in a single day.

2 of which were male characters trying to hit on me.

1 of which is an elvaan male trying to sexually harass me.

wtf is wrong with you guys.
